Hongdae-mun, Sky Park@One City

Sky Park@One City is probably one of the latest attraction in the Klang Valley. The Sky Park is on the 10th floor of One City Mall. What's the attraction ? The glass walkway that see through all the way down to the Ground Floor. A lot of people actually went there to take photos, selfies and whatnot.

I go there because it's a new place and it's a stone throw away from where I live. Besides F&B outlet, the place has nothing much to offer. Unless you're there for the cinema and gym.

On the 10th floor, there are a few restaurants and bars surrounding the glass walkway. One of the restaurant is Hongdae-mun. It's a Korean restaurant. There's quite a variety there from Japanese to Thai to Korean to Western. Take your pick.

We were very hungry at the time and opt for this restaurant because it was empty. And there was a lot of eager waiter and waitress waiting to serve us.

The place looks empty because they have another area for diners. Which is semi al fresco with a view of the NKVE. Most of the customers are seated here.

Casual seating arrangement. Quite hard to have a proper meal with a low table. Ours was a normal height table. But it was too small for 4 pax and normally there are lots of banchan that comes along with the meal.
They serve 5 types of banchan here.

Green Onion Pancake.
Kimchi Jjigae with Tuna. It's kind of hard to find kimchi jjigae that is served with tuna or salmon flakes in KL. I love the taste. I know it doesn't look very appetising but it's really good. The tuna actually balances the sourness of the kimchi soup.

+ we also ordered dwenjang jjigae & sundubu jjigae but i couldn't be bothered to take the pic because all came out looking alike and the outdoor dining area was poorly lit.
Egg Roll with Cheese. The winner of the night. All of us love this. It's so delish.

This place has a very very casual setup for a Korean restaurant. The food are not bad and it's the usual Korean restaurant price range. However, they have limited food as this is a casual dining place.

The place look big enough for a medium size company event. I think they do offer that and they serve alcohol as well.

Matsuya Japanese Cuisine

Matsuya Japanese Cuisine is one of those quiet Japanese restaurant that you will overlook. The reason is because it is surrounded by big players like Antipodean Coffee, Yeast, La Bodega on the same road. And a newly opened Mikey's New York Pizza which I have yet to try. Will wait for the crowd to disperse before I go and try. I'm too old to queue up for food.

I makan at Matsuya in early May and now only have time to blog about it.

Matsuya Japanese Cuisine.

Sashimi Moriawase for 2-3 pax and an additional order of Sango Tomato. I posted this photo on my Instagram and said that I can't eat the local tomato anymore. I was scolded by an ex-colleague that I was "atas" and #too much. Oh well, this is seriously good and it's seasonal. That tomato is RM25/piece and the size? Probably a bit bigger than a golf ball.

Seafood Fried Rice. Wish that there were more fried rice. So tasty!

Dobin Mushi. This is a traditional Japanese seafood broth served in a Dobin tea pot. The ingredient includes shrimp, chicken, soy sauce, lime & mushroom.

I'm not a Japanese food connoisseur. But I do know that I like the service and taste of food that we ordered that night. This could be a place where we will frequent for dinner when we're in the Bangsar area.
