Le Pollidor Cafe Dining

Le Pollidor Cafe is a cafe with beautiful ambience and good food. Just step into the place and it feels like home. In my opinion, it's too hidden. And nobody knows about it. Which is sad!

We stumbled upon it one day while searching for a place to eat for dinner. Being quite adventurous (once in a while), we check out the place.

We were greeted by the lady boss's soft voice and sweet smile and soft love songs playing in the background.

Soft lightings - the counter

Cosy sofa

Country style chicken chop. It's a tad heavy on the spice but overall it's nice.

LP's Pork Burger. I love the bread. Pork patty is not firm enough and too much sauce.

Home-style Fried Rice. If you crave for mom's cooking, this is perfect for you. This fried rice is served with luncheon pork ham, egg (sunny side up) and keropok.
Alfredo with Bacon Spaghetti. This is definitely a tasty comfort food if you're craving for carbs. I love this.
Hainanese Chicken Chop. This is the best chicken chop that we've eaten so far. It's not served with the usual sweet and sour gravy. It's light enough to not feel guilty eating it and yet very filling. This is served with a variety of vegetables and mashed potatoes. I love this so much that I order it everytime I eat at Le Pollidor Cafe.

They have a wide variety of food on the menu from asian to western cuisine. If you and your partner have different preference, this would be a nice and simple place to check out.

They are located above Hometown Steamboat and opposite of Awet Thai in Bandar Puteri Puchong. As that is quite a prime area, you might need to go a few rounds before finding a parking spot. This place is worth it.

Tonkatsu by Ma Maison

When I was in Singapore last year, my colleague asked me whether I would like to eat "Zhu Pah Fan" (which roughly translates to Pork Chop Rice) and I said no! I don't know why. The weirdest thing is that when I heard that Tonkatsu by Ma Maison was opened in Malaysia, I was really excited to check it out. I am hormonal alright.

In fact, I went twice in less than a month. I receive comments that the one in Singapore is better and I'm sure that they're right. But I live in Malaysia so I make do with what I have. The photos below are taken on 2 separate occasion via my iPhone 5 taken from my Instagram.

The menu.
The walls are lined with denims.

Seating arrangements.

Potato salad. Generous portion and tastewise it's good. Some japanese potato salad tend to be sour-ish but this is just nice.

Nyumen. It is essentially somen served in hot soup. A great starter.

Oroshi (white radish) and a drop of Tamari dressing.
Jumbo Rosu Katsu Set (250gm). If you eat a lot of meat or plan to share, do order this. It's pork loin.

Negioroshi Hire Katsu Set (160gm). Pork fillet with loads of white radish and shallots.
Rosu Katsu Set (160gm). The smaller portion from the first pic of pork loin.

Ippon Hire Katsu Set (160gm). Pork fillets if you don't like fats.

We love the miso soup so much that we drank 5 bowls. Majority of the miso soup in Malaysia is cooked without pork. I guess we went a little overboard.

This is a place where it's guaranteed that your tummy will be filled to be brim. The portions are generous and a few items are refillable.

Podgy & The Banker

I came to know about Podgy & The Banker through someone I follow on Instagram. It's quite a mouthful to pronounce doesn't it ? I was like what ? And is this even local ? The obvious thing to do was ask her where is this place with bright yellow cups of coffee. I need to give some love to @nyingy from Instagram for sharing the info with me.

Anyways, I was raving about Butter + Beans at seventeen previously but am not happy with the opening hours. And well, my dream came through with the opening of Podgy & The Banker because they are opened til midnight.

If I'm not wrong, the guys either used to be baristas at b+b or co-owners. That's because I recognized their faces. The coffee is the same and I love that plus they have wonderful desserts.

The following photos are taken off my Instagram. I have been too lazy to bring along my digital camera.

Podgy & The Banker. Oh so theatrical ! #iliketoeatlah #podgyandthebanker #hartamas

Cafe Latte.
Group photo of the coffee and cakes. This was taken another day. With the additional order of carrot cake with cream cheese and chocolate chip banana cake.

This will be one of my favorites for coffee now. Except the fact that it's quite far for me to travel. By the way, this is a self service joint so don't complaint if nobody layan you when you're there.
