Ban Lee Bak Kut Teh, Jalan Ipoh, KL

KL's traffic is a complete nightmare especially on Friday evening. I left the office quite late that night to avoid being stuck in traffic. Once I got home, Mr Hubs suggests that we head back down to KL for some BKT. I am game for it as it has been a while since I last ate there.

Ban Lee Bak Kut Teh is located at Jalan Ipoh (next to Dynasty Hotel). We parked the car by the roadside and ran to destination (it was drizzling that time). We were both famished and ordered straight away.

BKT is nice to be eaten during rainy season.

Tau foo pok. Just like any others.

Chillies and garlics.

I am deeply disappointed with this meal. We were both hungry and we both agreed that this is the worst BKT we have ever tasted. It used to be so good during my college days (eons ago). The BKT soup was too watered down, eventhough chinese wine is part of the ingredient. You basically taste the chinese wine, with a hint of herbs and that's all you get.

  3. I think it is not Chinese wine, more like a type of herb which make the soup darker and give it a unique taste.
