Heng Kee Bak Kut Teh, PJ Old Town

I am hokkien therefore I like to eat bak kut teh. Can or not ? Heng Kee Bak Kut Teh was a frequent BKT fix when I was younger and when their stall was located above a big longkang and still using wooden chopsticks. Sweat is a definite while eating there back in the day. Things have changed for the better. There's no need to sweat as fans are installed on their restaurant's ceiling now. And there are proper furnitures and cutleries.

I was there recently for dinner as I was not well. (Yes I know!) BKT was not the main purpose I was there, it was for the super bitter herbal tea to cure my body's heatiness. Since I'm around the neighbourhood, why not have my childhood favourite BKT??

My favourite and must order dish there. Stewed mushroom, sweet & sensational gravy and the mushroom is smoother than a baby's buttock

Pork ribs. Healthier choice as the meat are leaner

Dry bean curd...same everywhere

Fried crullers - dip into the BKT soup and eat. If you're health conscious, don't eat this

White rice

If I'm not mistaken, they are only opened at night. Service is fast and but possible for a mix up on orders as the aunty cum order takers then to rush and not pay attention to what you say.
