1919 Restaurant

It's the last work lunch for the year and we've decided to check out the newest restaurant along Jalan Yap Kwan Seng. From the outside, it looks like a balinese furniture shop. Parking space are limited as it's a bungalow lot. According to my colleague, 1919 Restaurant has been around for a while now in Ipoh.
It's a good thing that they've decided to open a branch in KL. More food choices to satiate the gluttons of KL!

The menu

The cutlery

Tea cup etched with the name of the restaurant.

The main dining area. If you look further into the background of this pic, you will see a red wall at the back. That is actually a private area for small groups.

Stairway to another dining area I presume as the section is closed.

The beverage making area

Waiting area when the restaurant gets busy. So homely right?

Antique lamps

Mr Tea pot waiting to be of service

Such an old fashioned setting. It brings back childhood memories

Vintage telephone as part of the deco

Nyonya-ish plate. Reminds me of my grandma and her cooking

Deep fried chilli brinjal. This is one tasty appetiser I tell you. A must-try here!

Nyonya Fried Rice. A good choice if you're looking for a bit more than the normal fried rice. Taste so good !

Pineapple Fried Rice. Not as good as the Nyonya Fried Rice.

Butter milk deep fried chicken. Orgasmic!

Normal Fried Rice. This has the homemade kinda feeling. And it makes me miss my mom's fried rice. Rice cooked just right and not too oily. If you can't take spicy, order this winner.

Fried wantan noodle. The texture is springy, it practically jumps inside your mouth. Simple yet tasty!

We all agreed that we made the right choice by having our last work lunch here. Everything that we ordered exceeds our expectations and the prices are very reasonable. Our total bill for 6 pax is RM79+

It is advisable to order ahead of time if you have limited lunch hour. Service by waiters are prompt.

1919 Restaurant, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, Kuala Lumpur.
